With over 40 tasting booths and over 250 wines available to sample, the 2018 Wine Show by the Bay will have something for everyone. Bring your friends for a day filled with fabulous wines and fun, informative masterclasses. Add some sparkle to your day at our exclusive Louis Roederer Lunch in the Club Restaurant or kick up your heels at our rustic long table “Plank & Plonk” Picnic Lunch on the Club Terrace. At the end of your day you will be able to stock up on your favourite wines at the Club’s Cellar Door, where selected wines showcased throughout the day will be available to buy at Club cellar door prices.

La Cantina Italian Wine Masterclass – FULLY BOOKED

Home to some of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world, Italy’s wines are loved both at home and abroad. No other country can boast as many varieties, ranging through almost every possible colour, flavour, and wine style. Approximately one-fifth of the world’s wine comes directly from Italy’s vineyards and Italy, closely followed by Spain and France, is the world’s largest wine producer by volume. In this masterclass you will be taken on a viticultural tour through Italy, tasting Italian wines specific to these regions.

World of Pinot Noir Masterclass – FULLY BOOKED
Presented by the Casama Group

The Pinot grape is one of the world’s favourite grapes, producing wines with an intensity that oozes summer flavours of ripe cherries, wild strawberries and crushed berries. Add to that a velvety smoothness and an underlying complexity and you have a silky wine that’s hard to beat. Its heartland may be in Burgundy but superb examples can also be found from around the world.

In this masterclass, Sally McGill, Director of Sales and Marketing – International at the Casama Group, will lead you through a tasting of both domestic and international Pinot Noir wines.

Mollydooker Wines Shiraz Masterclass

Mollydooker is an exciting, out of left field winery in the heart of McLaren Vale, South Australia. Although the winery makes a wide variety of wine styles, they have a soft spot for Shiraz. In this tasting you will be guided through a selection of their Shiraz or Shiraz blends and given an insight into some of their unique wine making practices. You will learn about the Mollydooker Shake, which is the unique process that the winemakers use to prepare their wines for drinking; Mollydooker Fruit Weight, which is how they measure quality in their wines; and finally, the Mollydooker Flavour Curve, which is how they achieve the amazing depth of colour and flavour in their wines.

Join Western Australia’s leading wine writer Ray Jordan as he shares with you his favourites wines to try at this year’s Wine Show by the Bay. Ray has judged at the Swan Valley Wine Show, the Barossa Wine Show, the Perth Hills Wine Show, the Geographe Wine Show and the Sheraton Wine Awards. In 2010 Ray was awarded the WA Wine Press Club Jack Mann Memorial Medal for his contribution to the Western Australian wine industry. He is also a previous winner of the WA Wine Press Club Wine Writing Award and the George Mulgrue Award, both for his extensive contribution to the WA wine industry.
