Membership of The University Club of Western Australia puts you at the heart of Western Australia’s oldest university.

UWA Alumni, staff, postgraduate students, friends, and members of our surrounding and tertiary education community are invited to join our Club which offers a welcoming space to relax, socialise and network with colleagues, family and friends.

University Club Members enjoy mouth-watering cuisine in our two award-winning dining outlets, an extensive calendar of social and professional events and access to sixteen fully equipped, functional and flexible meeting spaces which can cater to all of your social and professional needs.

The Club offers a Membership experience unique to Western Australia and strives to promote fellowship among Members and reflect the collegial spirit of the University of Western Australia.

Ambassador Program 

All Clubs trace their roots to the strong contributions made by individuals, contributions that not only create an environment in which camaraderie flourishes and friendships begin but which assist in the Club’s growth.  These people are called Club Ambassadors.  Successfully nominate a friend for Membership and receive a $100 voucher to help welcome them to the Club.

Simply complete an Ambassador Program form and our Membership team will do the rest.

Membership Categories

If prospective Members do not fall under any of the below categories, a Non-Standard application would need to be completed with applicants required to illustrate in detail their strong links to UWA.  For further information on Non-Standard applications please contact the Membership and Marketing Department or call our Membership Team on 6488 8770.

University Membership

Open to current employees of the University of Western Australia.

Joining Fee: Nil

Subscription Fee:  $24.50/month or $11.31/fortnight.

University Members can pay their subscriptions fortnightly via payroll or  monthly.

University Members have access to all of the facilities and services offered by the University Club of Western Australia.

Postgraduate Membership

Open to current Postgraduate students of the University of Western Australia.

Joining Fee: Nil

Annual Subscription Fee: $120.00/year

This is a fixed term Membership requiring renewal each year upon confirmation of enrolment in current postgraduate study. Membership will be automatically cancelled at the end of each 12 month Membership period.

Members have access to all of the facilities and services offered by the University Club of Western Australia with the exception of a Members parking permit.

Young Alumni Membership

Open to Alumni of the University of Western Australia aged 35 years and under.

Joining Fee: Nil

Subscription Fee:  $16.34/month

This is a fixed term Membership expiring in the calendar year in which the Member turns 35 years of age. Once Young Alumni Membership expires the Membership may be transferred to Individual Membership and no joining fee will apply.

Young Alumni Members have access to all of the facilities and services offered by the University Club of Western Australia.

Individual Membership

Open to Alumni of the University of Western Australia.

Joining Fee: $385.00

Subscription Fee: $24.50/month

Members have access to all of the facilities and services offered by the University Club of Western Australia.

Family Membership

Open to family groups who meet eligibility criteria. (See more information)

Joining Fee: $385.00

Subscription Fee:  Annual or monthly payment options are available for this category of membership

Annual: Primary Member: $294.00, subsequent family nominees: $150.00 per person. Primary Member Joining Fee ($385.00) is payable in full at time of joining.

Monthly:  Primary Member:  $24.50 per month, subsequent family nominees:$12.50 per month per person.  Primary Member Joining Fee ($385.00) is payable in full at time of joining.

Terms and Conditions of Family Membership

Family Membership is linked to, and managed by one Primary, full fee-paying Member and must comprise no less than 2 direct family Members.

The Primary Member must meet the University Club’s regular eligibility criteria. Family nominees must be over the age of 18 and cannot be current undergraduate students of The University of Western Australia.  Should the Primary Member resign, either a new Primary full fee-paying Member can be appointed, or the remaining family Members will be transitioned to Individual Membership and the relevant fees will apply.

All family Members have full access to the facilities and services offered by the University Club of Western Australia.

Individual Membership (Non Alumni)

Open to non-alumni who meet other eligibility criteria (see  more information)

Joining Fee: $385.00

Subscription Fee: $24.50/month

Eligibility: Open to friends and family of existing Club Members by nomination,  local residents and businesses, academic and professional staff of other WA universities, parents and grandparents of current UWA students and members of philanthropic groups linked to UWA.

Non-Standard Individual  Members have access to all the facilities and services offered by the University Club of Western Australia.

Corporate1

Corporate Membership

Open to organisations with links to the University of Western Australia.

Joining Fee: $550.  Registered Not-for-profit organisations are not required to pay a joining fee.  All other fees apply.

Corporate Nominee Annual Subscription Fee: $294/annum

Corporate Delegate Annual Subscription Fee: $150/annum

Organisations, where at least one corporate nominee is UWA alumni, are automatically eligible to join the Club.

Corporate Membership is linked to, and managed by, one full fee-paying Corporate Nominee.  In order to keep the Corporate Membership active, there must be one Corporate Nominee appointed to the Membership at all times. In addition, other employees of the member organisation can join as Corporate Delegates at a reduced rate.

Benefits

 Corporate Member company:

  • Access to preferred service fees for the conference and events facilities when booking Corporate events at the University Club of Western Australia.
  • Access to preferred prices on selected food and beverage items for corporate events.
  • Complimentary use of the Club Private Dining Rooms for corporate events*
  • Complimentary access to the Members Meeting Room for meetings of up to 2 hours.*
  • Discounted venue, AV and food & beverage rates for Corporate events.
  • The Primary Corporate Nominee’s membership is transferable at the discretion of the Member company*
  • Corporate delegates can be added to the membership for a reduced rate. ($150/annum and no joining fee)

Corporate Nominee/Corporate Delegates:

  • Discounted venue, AV and food & beverage rates for personal events and celebrations.
  • Access to an extensive calendar of social, professional, and networking events and promotions.
  • Access to discounted wine pricing through the Club’s Wine Appreciation Society Cellar Door
  • Parking permit for the Club’s private undercover parking when visiting the Club.
  • Reciprocal privileges to a network of Clubs around the World.
  • Account signing privileges across all venues.
  • Regular email updates which are designed to keep Members informed of special events and promotions.
  • A selection of discounts and special offers from University Club Benefit Partners.
  • Access to discounted  QANTAS Club membership rates through the University Club’s Corporate Scheme
  • The spouse or life partner of Corporate nominees and Corporate delegates are eligible to join the Club as Family nominees ($150.00/annum)

Eligibility

Organisations that fall under any of the below are eligible to join the Club as Corporate Members:

  • The appointed Corporate Nominee is alumnus of The University of Western Australia
  • Organisations that can illustrate an existing and ongoing association with The University of Western Australia.
  • Organisations that can illustrate an existing and ongoing association with The University Club of Western Australia.
  • Organisations that are located within close proximity to UWA (Nedlands, Crawley, Kings Park)
  • By nomination by a current University Club Member.
  • Any employee of a corporate member organisation is eligible to join as a Corporate Delegate.

In addition to the completed application forms, applicants for Corporate Membership are required to provide additional documentation including a letter of introduction, corporate profile and list of directors.

Out-of-State Membership

Out of State/Country Membership is available to alumni who live further than 100km from Perth’s Central  Business District.

Out-of-State Members have access to the Club and its award-winning dining facilities for up to 30 days in a calendar year and have year-round access to all other Member Benefits and Reciprocal Clubs.

Out of State Members’ are required to pay a one-off $385 joining fee and an annual subscription fee of $147.00 per year ( 50% off the full Individual Membership monthly rate).

Suspension of Membership

Members may suspend their  University Club Membership for a minimum of three (3) to a maximum of twelve (12) months throughout the life of the  Membership. All outstanding subscription fees and food & beverage charges are required to be settled prior to the Membership being suspended.  Members  are also required to provide correct contact details valid for the duration of the Membership suspension.

Postgraduate Members cannot suspend their Membership as it is a fixed term Membership.

Cancellation of Membership

Members are required to maintain their Club Membership for a minimum period of six (6) months. Club Members are required to give no less than thirty (30) days advance written notice of intent to cancel Membership and are required to pay all outstanding dues and charges before the Membership is terminated.  Should a Member cancel within six (6) months of joining the Club, a cancellation fee will apply.

Postgraduate Members cannot cancel their Membership as it is a fixed-term Membership.
