Founded in 1903 as a British businessman’s club, the British Club Bangkok has developed over the last century to become the social, sports and cultural centre for the English speaking community in Bangkok. The present Clubhouse was built in 1910 and is an impressive  colonial-style building. The Club has changed over the years to meet the needs of its younger and more transient membership, providing a relaxed and friendly environment for a wide range of sporting and social activities for businessmen with families, yet remaining a popular venue for a business lunch or convivial drink. The British Club Bangkok is a registered Association in accordance with the Thai Civil & Commercial Code.

Location

The Club is centrally located between Silom and Suriwongse Roads, in the heart of Bangkok’s Central Business District and one of the major shopping and entertainment areas and forms a small oasis in this busy city.  First time entry to the Club is via Silom Soi 18 only. The Club is about a 10 minute walk from Chong Nonsi Skytrain station and Sathorn Bus Rapid Transit station and about 1½km from Si Lom Underground and Sala Daeng Skytrain stations. The Club is also directly accessible to/from the Second Stage Expressway system and there is parking on site.

  • A letter of introduction is required.
  • Reciprocal Members can access the British Club Bangkok for 30 days in one calendar year (split between visits if required)

The University of Adelaide University Club was established in 1950 and operated in premises on Hughes Plaza from June 1971 to May 2010. In May 2010 the Club moved to Level 4 of Union House.

Located at the University of Adelaide, the heritage listed Union House has function rooms that can cater for a range of events from small boardroom meetings of 5 to conferences of 200 guests.

The Athenaeum is a private membership club that first opened its doors on the campus of the California Institute of Technology in 1930. The club has grown with the Institute but remains faithful to the vision of its founders, whose purpose was to promote social, cultural, and intellectual exchange. Today, The Athenaeum has over 4,000 members including Caltech faculty, trustees, alumni, senior administrators, researchers, undergraduates and graduate students, and the Associates of the California Institute of Technology. Membership also includes employees of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the Huntington Library and Art Gallery, and the Palomar Observatory as well as local community, academic, and civic leaders.

Nedlands Golf Club

Set amongst 18 hectares of native tuart, redgum, and banksia trees (many reported to be over 300 years old) and flanked by sweeping views of Matilda Bay, Nedlands golf course is a private member 9 hole championship layout.

On each tee, you will find two teeing areas, the outward nine defined by white tee markers (men) and red markers (ladies), and on the inward nine, blue (men) and yellow (ladies). Each offers a subtle new challenge and a different perspective to each hole.
